Senior Software Engineer - Secure Defense Systems
About the Role
SAAB is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and secure mission-critical systems for our Defense & Aerospace portfolio within the Information Technology (IT) organization. You will lead the development of robust, scalable software and services that integrate with sensors, command-and-control, and cyber-defense platforms. Partnering with cross-functional engineering teams, you’ll define architectures, implement high-quality code, and drive DevSecOps and automation practices. You will mentor engineers, champion secure coding and safety-focused design, and help deliver innovative, reliable solutions that protect people and enhance global security in a collaborative, learning-driven culture.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and secure mission-critical software for defense systems
- Lead secure software architectures and DevSecOps practices
- Mentor engineers in secure coding and safety-focused design
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher in CS or related field
- 5+ years of software development experience in defense or security domains
- Experience with secure coding practices and DevSecOps
