Job Details

We are seeking skilled and motivated Service Technicians to perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial overhead doors, loading dock equipment, gates, and related mechanical systems.

Ideal candidates have experience with commercial overhead doors, dock levelers, commercial gates, elevators, commercial HVAC, industrial equipment maintenance, or similar mechanical field-service work.

Direct commercial door and dock experience is highly preferred; however, we are also interested in mechanically skilled technicians from related industries who are willing to learn.

What You'll Do

? Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial overhead doors, sectional doors, rolling steel doors, and related equipment.

? Service loading dock equipment, including dock levelers, dock seals, dock shelters, and related mechanical systems.

? Install, repair, and maintain commercial gates, door operators, motors, and related access systems.

? Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components as applicable.

? Perform preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential equipment failures.

? Diagnose equipment malfunctions and complete repairs efficiently and safely.

? Install and replace motors, springs, cables, rollers, tracks, hinges, controls, and other mechanical components.

? Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and schematics.

? Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized service tools.

? Perform welding, fabrication, carpentry, or minor electrical work when required and properly qualified.

? Respond to scheduled service calls and participate in emergency or on-call service rotations as assigned.

? Communicate professionally with commercial customers and explain equipment issues and recommended repairs.

? Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, parts usage, and repair records.

? Follow OSHA requirements and established workplace safety procedures.

? Work independently or collaboratively with other technicians to complete service and installation projects.

? What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

? Hands-on experience in mechanical repair, equipment installation, maintenance, or a related technical trade.

? Strong preference for experience in commercial overhead doors, loading docks, gates, elevators, commercial HVAC, industrial equipment, or comparable mechanical service industries.

? Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.

? Experience using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical repair equipment.

? Ability to work independently in the field and solve technical problems.

? Strong attention to safety, quality, and customer service.

? Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, climbing, and working around commercial equipment, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

? Valid driver's license and driving record meeting applicable company requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

? Direct commercial overhead door or loading dock installation, maintenance, or repair experience.

? Experience with sectional doors, rolling steel doors, dock levelers, dock seals, and dock shelters.

? Experience servicing commercial gates, access control systems, or automatic door operators.

? Background in elevator service, commercial HVAC, industrial maintenance, material handling equipment, or mechanical field service.

? Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, motors, controls, hydraulics, or pneumatic systems.

? Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.

? Welding, fabrication, carpentry, or locksmithing experience.

? OSHA training or relevant technical certifications.

? Previous experience working directly with commercial or industrial customers.

Experience Levels

Junior / Apprentice Technician

? Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in construction, maintenance, or a related trade.

? Willingness to learn commercial overhead door and dock equipment service.

? Ability to work safely under the guidance of experienced technicians.

? Typical starting pay: $24–$28/hour.

Experienced Service Technician

? Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing commercial mechanical or electrical equipment.

? Ability to work independently on service calls.

? Experience with commercial overhead doors, docks, gates, HVAC, elevators, or related systems.

? Compensation based on demonstrated skills and experience.

Senior / Lead Technician

? Advanced troubleshooting, installation, and repair experience.

? Ability to handle complex commercial service calls independently.

? Experience mentoring junior technicians or leading installation and repair projects.

? Strong technical knowledge of commercial door, dock, or related mechanical systems.

? Experienced, certified, and lead-level technicians may earn $35–$40+/hour depending on market and qualifications.

? You start your day reviewing service calls, loading the equipment and parts you'll need, and heading to a commercial customer location.

? One day you're troubleshooting a malfunctioning dock leveler. The next, you're repairing a commercial overhead door, replacing a motor, or diagnosing an electrical issue.

? You take pride in finding the problem, completing the repair correctly, and helping customers get their operations back up and running.

? You're dependable, mechanically skilled, safety-conscious, and motivated to continue learning.

Career Growth

? Technicians have opportunities to develop additional skills and certifications, advance into Senior Technician or Lead/Foreman positions, and potentially pursue Service Manager or field operations leadership roles.

? Compensation: $24–$40+/hour depending on experience, qualifications, and location. Overtime and additional compensation opportunities may apply. The advertised hourly range does not include additional compensation perks.
