Physical Therapist Assistant - Inpatient Rehabilitation
About the Role
Encompass Health in Amarillo, TX is hiring Physical Therapist Assistants to support comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation. In this role, you will carry out treatment plans designed by physical therapists, delivering therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance work, and functional mobility activities to help patients regain independence after major illness or injury. You will document progress, monitor patient safety, and educate patients and families on home programs and assistive devices. Working within an interdisciplinary, patient-centered team, you’ll collaborate closely with PTs, nurses, and physicians. Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments as prescribed by PTs
- Document patient progress and safety
- Educate patients and families on home programs
Qualifications
- Certification as Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
- Licensed/registered in TX or eligibility
