This facility maintains established clinical infrastructure and protocols to support locum tenens cardiothoracic surgery coverage across inpatient, ICU, clinic, and operating room settings. The facility provides 24/7 call coverage requirements and structured workflows to facilitate coordinated care delivery throughout each assigned coverage period. On-site resources are in place to support the cardiothoracic surgery service line, including CVOR operations in collaboration with the cardiothoracic surgeon.

Virginia offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of outdoor and cultural activities suited to varied interests. The state features diverse regional attractions, including extensive trail systems, scenic drives, water recreation, working wineries, artisan markets, caverns, farms, and local events held throughout the year, providing varied options for leisure during time away from clinical duties.

Clinicians will provide full-time cardiothoracic surgery coverage across inpatient, ICU, clinic, and operating room settings, with day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Call coverage is required from 4:30 PM until 7:00 AM the following morning. Clinical responsibilities include rounding on inpatients, seeing patients in the clinic, functioning as a First Assist in the CVOR alongside the cardiothoracic surgeon, and performing vein harvesting during operative procedures. Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery and prescriptive authority are required for consideration.
